Please read our shipping and delivery guidelines carefully before placing your order. Delivery options, costs and responsibilities vary depending on the size of the item, your location and the method of transport selected.
Please note: Third-party courier deliveries and customer collections are undertaken at the customer’s risk. Kids Cove cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss occurring after goods have left our premises when a third-party courier or customer collection is used.
Courier – Small Items
We can courier smaller items from Newlands, Cape Town to destinations throughout South Africa. Small items must either fit into an A3 courier envelope or be smaller than approximately 30 cm³.
Guideline pricing
- Main centres: Up to R195 if the item fits within an A3 courier envelope. Final pricing is subject to the courier’s quote.
- Outer-lying or outlying areas: Approximately R280, including an estimated surcharge. Final pricing is subject to the courier’s quote.
- Larger or custom items: Items that do not fit within the above specifications will require an individual shipping quote.
Please note: There is no such thing as genuinely “free delivery”. Delivery and labour costs are either included in the product price or charged separately. At Kids Cove, we have chosen to keep delivery costs separate wherever possible so that our pricing remains transparent.
Local Furniture Delivery & Assembly
For larger furniture items, Kids Cove has a trusted team who deliver and assemble within approximately 60 km of the southern suburbs of Cape Town.
Deliveries slightly beyond this area may be possible and should be discussed with us in advance. Additional delivery and/or assembly charges may apply.
Delivery within Cape Town
- Within 20 km of Newlands: Select the applicable online flat-rate delivery option at checkout. Assembly is charged separately.
- Beyond 20 km: Please contact us for a delivery and assembly quote.
Our delivery team will take reasonable care when delivering and assembling your furniture. However, customers are responsible for ensuring that the furniture will fit through all access points, including gates, doors, passages, stairways and into the intended room. Please measure carefully before placing your order.
Rooms should be cleared before our team arrives. Additional charges may apply if existing furniture needs to be moved or disassembled.
Collection from Newlands
You are welcome to collect your order from Newlands, Cape Town at no additional cost, by prior arrangement.
For collections:
- Please bring suitable blankets and/or protective padding to protect the furniture during transport.
- Please ensure that the furniture will fit safely into your vehicle.
- Once goods have been collected, responsibility for the items passes to the customer, including any damage incurred during loading, transport or handling.
Collection hours
Collections are by mutual arrangement only. Please contact us in advance so that we can have your order ready.
National Delivery
National delivery of larger items is available through selected, reputable third-party courier and furniture transport providers. National third-party delivery applies to self-assembly/flat-pack items only.
If you require national delivery, please contact us for a quote. We will provide the courier or transporter with:
- The dimensions and weight of your complete order
- Your delivery address
- Any other relevant delivery requirements
We will then obtain a delivery and/or packaging quote on your behalf. Please allow 1–2 working days for a quote to be obtained.
Delivery availability and costs vary considerably by destination. Some remote or outlying areas may not be serviced, or delivery may not be economically viable.
Where a third-party transport provider is used:
- Items will generally be delivered disassembled and will require customer assembly.
- The customer accepts the risks associated with third-party transportation.
- Kids Cove has no control over the handling or delivery of goods once they have been handed to the transport provider.
International Orders
We currently do not offer delivery outside South Africa.
If you are arranging your own international transport, we can prepare the goods for collection, after which you may arrange collection through your own logistics provider. Responsibility for the goods passes to the customer once they leave our premises.
Kids Cove Delivery Times
Furniture deliveries are generally scheduled towards the end of each week.
Once an item is in stock, we usually aim to deliver within 3–7 days, depending on delivery-team availability and your location.
For items that need to be manufactured or ordered, the typical lead time is approximately 2–7 weeks, depending on the item and seasonal demand.
Please note: All lead times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. Manufacturing and delivery may occasionally be affected by circumstances beyond our control. We will always endeavour to meet the lead times provided and keep you informed of any significant delays.
